Trench coats and spring mood

Happy Monday loves! A few weeks ago I finally had the feeling that we are approaching spring. So I opened my wardrobe, and finally said “Hi!” to all the clothes that I haven’t had the chance to wear during the first lockdown.

In the past year I have become more conscious about purchasing clothes, and I now avoid buying trendy pieces that fade in a season or two and end up laying in my wardrobe forever. Instead, I prefer to invest in classic pieces that match my style and that I can wear again and again. When I can, I also try to invest in quality or at least to take good care of my garments that I already have, even if they are from fast-fashion retailers.

Trench coats are the best and timeless transitional pieces, both for autumn and spring. For chilly mornings or rainy days, I always opt for my trench coat. They can be so easily styled, with dresses or just jeans and sneakers, and make every outfit instantly chic. They come in different lengths and colors like black, blue and the classic beige, but I went for a long khaki green one which pairs well with my color palette and differs from the usual neutral colors.

As the day was sunny, and I wanted to enjoy the warmth of the sun, I picked a casual outfit for a stroll in town. I paired my trench coat with a white statement knit that has a décolleté cutout, skinny jeans, black nylon bag and white trainers. I just can’t get over the gorgeous details this coat has: the double-breast buttons, the cut of the collar, the waist belt, the light flowy fabric… I just can’t wait to be able to wear it more often!

No matter what your budget is, try chose a trench that is durable over time. Before buying it, think about the best color that fits with your style and pay attention to buttons, seam and fabrics. It is possible to find good options also at more affordable prices.

I wish you all a happy week!
