Fall fashion trends for 2021 that you already have in your closet

Hello loves! Looking outside of the window of my room I can see abundant red and yellow colors on the trees..which means that fall is here! I always lived fall as a season of new beginnings (much more than New Year!) and I love the feeling that I have at this time of the year. I am very excited for this upcoming year since we are basically back to normal life.

The fashion trends of this season are all about being ready to come back to life but keeping us warm from the cold. As you know, I love fashion and styling pieces according to my style, but I try not to over consume and to be sustainable in my daily life. So before running to the store to purchase the latest trends, I shop my own closet, create new looks and adapt trends to my own taste.

So loves, let’s get into the 2021 Fall trends and into some of my favorite way to style them!

  • Knits, midi lengths, and fringes

Keep it cozy! After a whole year of sweat pants and home wear, we are ready to look polished again but without giving up on comfort. These are very wearable trends that you definitely have in your wardrobe.

For this first outfit, I paired a soft burgundy midi dress with a brown knitted poncho. The fitted dress is balanced out by the over-sized poncho and the fringes confer some movement to the whole outfit. I have been wearing full knitted outfits for years and I love that they keep me warm in the coldest seasons, so I was happy to see that this is a trend now!

  • Plaid miniskirts and tailored coats

The plaid miniskirts are back! As a millennial, I grew up watching Friends and Rachel Green was a source of style inspiration. A turtleneck paired with a plaid skirt was one of her iconic outfits, which all of us emulated in our style. Plaid miniskirts are part of my closet since always and I was very excited to see that brands like Dior brought them back in vogue this year.

I paired this fitted plaid miniskirt with a black turtleneck and my favorite terracotta tailored coat. Runways were full of suits and tailored coats, although I don’t really consider them as a trend, but as a staple of everyone’s closet.

  • Midi lengths

Midi pleated skirts are also a fall 2021 trend. They are elegant, timeless, and chic. How can we not love them!? This time, I wore the same black turtleneck with this dark green pleated silky skirt. To keep it more casual, I paired it with a nylon bag and Chelsea boots, but you can always dress it up with a pair of heels.

Which one is your favorite trend of this season? Did you find any new way to style the pieces in your closet?

With love,

Valentina
