Hello loves!! Welcome back to the blog! As you already might know, one of the trends of this summer is the monochrome look. This year fashion designers added monochromatic outfits to their runways of spring/summer collections, as Chanel, Valentino, Ferragamo, and many more. Nowadays, it is quite common to see on the street matching sets of lounge wear or elegant suits. So what do I think about this trend?
I always think that one should wear whatever gives a good feeling. No trend should be worn if it doesn’t feel “you”! For a long time, I felt quite awkward to dress in one color only because I felt that it attracts too much attention (and it makes me feel uncomfortable!). But I think it’s just because I was choosing the wrong colors! Monochromatic looks can be totally black, totally white, or totally neutral. And another way to feel more effortless is to pair garments of similar shades instead of wearing the whole set of the same shade.
This is how I put together this outfit! I decided to go for green because it is a color I love for the nice seasons and enhances my complexion. I picked up this beautiful blouse intending to wear it for special night outs that didn’t really happen in the last year. I was a bit tired to wait and I decided to wear it anyway on different occasions by dressing it down.
It is a bright green cropped blouse with flowy puffy sleeves and a floral pattern. As soon as I saw it I had to have it for summer and I am very happy that I managed to get the last piece in the shop. As the green of the shirt pops to the sight, I decided to cool the tones down with dark green high-waist skinny trousers. The high waist balances the cropped blouse and elongates the legs.
Finally, as every summer, I wear Espadrilles wedges. Mine are beige with some golden sparkles and they are a must of my summer closet that can be paired with everything. Red lip, black cross-body bag, and I am ready to head out!
So loves, what do you think about the monochrome trend? Will you wear it this summer?
With love,
